1987 Toyota Pick-Up
Exterior
The vehicle’s paint has been refinished and shows good shine and luster. A film thickness check revealed the left front door has thicker paint, indicating prior repair, and there is a 2–3 inch crack in the paint where bondo was applied. A small ding is present at the center of the hood, and there are minor scratches throughout the vehicle consistent with age and mileage. The windshield has wiper scratches but no cracks or chips. The driver’s side mirror is missing the base molding (see pic 11). There are small paint chips on the right cab edge. The bed appears to have been repainted and is scratch-free. Tailgate functions properly but shows paint blemishes on the hinges. Both bumpers are aftermarket and in clean condition, along with a roll bar in the bed. Aftermarket wheels show no damage, and the tires appear relatively new with even wear and 14/32" tread depth. All exterior lights work properly. The underside of the vehicle shows areas of surface rust.
Interior
No unusual odors were detected in the cabin. There are small cracks or cuts on both front inner door trim panels (see pic 102) and scratches in the lower dash molding on the passenger side (see pic 100). The dash is in good condition, though the top of the center gauge cluster shows wear (see pic 114). Seats, visors, seatbelts, and windows are all in functional condition. The horn is not working and the HVAC airflow is stuck on defrost; heater appears non-functional and blows ambient air. Further diagnosis needed for both. There's surface rust under the dash, pic 104. The carpet shows moderate wear from use.
Mechanical
Coolant appears rusty (see pic 24). Engine shows oil seepage at the timing chain cover and underside, pic 62 though no active dripping observed at time of inspection. Transfer case has a leak and should be cleaned to confirm the source, pic 82. Axle seals show signs of seepage. Exhaust has surface rust but no leaks noted.
Road Test
The vehicle drove well overall. Clutch, brakes, and suspension performed normally. 4WD high and low engaged smoothly, with functional front hubs. Transmission shifted smoothly and the vehicle tracked straight. However, a loud ticking noise was noted from the upper engine area. Further diagnosis needed. No OBD2 port available due to vehicle age, so no fault codes were scanned.

This report reflects a visual and road-test evaluation of observable conditions at the time of inspection only. Vehicles are not placed on a lift, and no diagnostic testing or teardown was performed. This inspection report is for information purposes only and is intended as a buying guide, not a mechanical warranty or diagnostic breakdown, and is not to be considered a recommendation for or against the purchase of the inspected vehicle.
This Inspection Report is governed by the terms and conditions of the order which were accepted by you at the time of placing the order and which are available at https://lemonsquad.com/terms and which contain important information, disclosures, disclaimers, limitations on liability and mandatory arbitration. This Inspection Report is for the sole and exclusive use of the Customer named above and may not be used or relied upon by any third party including, without limitation, any purchaser of a vehicle from Customer.
Without limiting the Limited Warranty, Disclaimers, Limitations on Liability and Dispute Resolution provisions of the terms and conditions (available at https://lemonsquad.com/terms), there are no implied or express warranties or guarantees of any kind in connection with any vehicle inspection. The vehicle inspection is intended solely as an “evaluation” of a given vehicle’s condition at the time, date and place of examination. Wrench Inc., and its affiliates including LemonSquad, specifically disclaims any liability for any loss or damage arising in connection with ownership or operation of said vehicle and further disclaims any liability of any hidden wreck, flood damage or tampered components not readily apparent upon visual inspection. The items visually inspected were in the reported condition listed in the report at the time of the inspection only. A visual inspection will not identify the working condition of each and every vehicle part or component, nor will a visual inspection identify any or all missing, tampered or altered components. Intermittent component or systems issues or failures may not present themselves at the precise time of inspection and/or a vehicle may be tuned in a manner to mask or minimize any such issues; in either case, such intermittent issues may not be discoverable during inspection. Further disclaimed is any liability for any damage or defects not found during inspection. Other conditions may exist which did not occur or appear during inspection. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the vehicle to be inspected is in a state in which the vehicle is legal to drive on public roads, safe and functioning well enough to start and drive, and located in a space that is accessible and allows the inspector full access to vehicle components. Vehicles that are not safe, legal, or in a running condition will not have a test drive performed.
