1968 Chevrolet Camaro

The exterior was inspected and found to be generally in good condition, with some noted issues. The windshield washer is inoperative. Door gaps were slightly uneven, with the gaps between the doors and rear quarter panels appearing a bit narrow, while those between the doors and front fenders were slightly wide. A 1/4" scratch was observed on the right front fender just above the '327' emblem, and a dried paint drip was noted on the roof near the left front corner by the rain gutter. The weather stripping between the door window and quarter window is heavily worn on both sides. The paint appeared to be properly applied, with thickness readings averaging between 6 to 10 mils across the body. All glass was in good condition, and the windshield showed no signs of scratching from worn wiper blades. Additionally, all exterior lights were functioning correctly, and the vacuum-operated headlight doors performed as intended.

During the interior inspection, light wear was observed on the seats, consistent with the vehicle’s mileage. The stereo head unit and rear speakers are aftermarket components. The driver’s door panel is correctly upholstered but shows waviness at the bottom, see the provided photo for reference, while the passenger door panel is in good condition. Aftermarket gauges are installed at the front of the console below the radio, and an aftermarket shifter is fitted in the console. The dash lights did not appear to be functioning, though this may be due to the bright lighting conditions at the time of inspection and should be rechecked in lower light. The vehicle is equipped with A/C components, including vents and a compressor, but the NOS HVAC control panel lacks a switch to activate the system, indicating it may not be the correct unit for this car. There were no unusual odors inside the vehicle; however, the interior light is missing. Additionally, an aftermarket tachometer is mounted on the steering column.

The engine bay and undercarriage were inspected for signs of leakage, deterioration, and fluid condition. The car is equipped with a GM LS2 motor, though the exact displacement is unknown to the seller. The engine bay was clean but densely packed with aftermarket components, including an aluminum radiator, an aftermarket A/C compressor, and a Holley Sniper EFI unit. All fluid levels, oil, transmission fluid, and coolant, were full and appeared clean. The undercarriage was dry, with no evidence of fluid leaks, rust, or body rot. There was no sign of brake fluid on the backing plates. The vehicle is fitted with a power disc/drum brake setup, which appears to be unmodified.

The road test went well overall, though there were some initial issues. The engine exhibited a rough idle during cold start, which warrants further diagnosis. A clunking noise was heard from the rear of the vehicle as the test drive began, but no abnormal noises were noted after initial acceleration. Once underway, the engine ran smoothly and felt strong. At no point during the road test or inspection did the engine show any signs of overheating.

The tires were inspected for tread depth and any unusual wear patterns. All four tires are of the same brand and have sufficient remaining tread depth.
