1970 International Scout

Exterior condition:

I noticed that all tires were of the same brand and had appropriate tread depth. The wheels displayed scratches consistent with the age of the vehicle. All lights and turn signals were in good working order, and window and door seals were intact. The seller mentioned having the attachable top in their garage, stating there were no issues attaching it and no leaks, but they didn't attach it during the inspection due to time constraints. General misalignment was observed in body panels, the hood, and the tailgate, as shown in the pictures. There were minor miscellaneous scratches around the vehicle, typical for its age, with most being too small to see in photos. Additionally, the vehicle had minor miscellaneous dings on the body, and there was a dent on the driver's door near the handle. The paint showed some wear and tear consistent with its age. Moreover, the underside exhibited areas of heavy minor surface rust, as depicted in the pictures.

Interior condition:

I observed that the interior accessories, such as the heater, blower, and windshield wipers, were all functioning properly. The seats were free from tears or rips, and there was no unusual odor inside the vehicle. The steering wheel exhibited some wear and tear, as shown in the pictures, which is normal for its age. Similarly, there was light wear on the seats, consistent with the vehicle's age. The inner door panels displayed wear typical for their age, and there was also wear evident in the shifter area.

Mechanical condition:

I found that all fluids were clean and at the correct levels, and belts and hoses were in good condition without any noticeable cracks or wear. There was no smell of burning oil in the engine compartment after running the vehicle. However, I noticed oil marks on the underside. This area should be cleaned off and rechecked to verify if there is a leak. Additionally, the exhaust showed some surface rust, but currently, there are no leaks, and it sounds good.

Road Test:

I noted that the vehicle accelerated, handled, and braked well considering its age. The transmission shifted smoothly from gear to gear without any issues. Since the motor was upgraded to a V8 in 2010, I conducted an OBD scan. The scan revealed a P0175 code, indicating a "rich fuel mixture." Further diagnosis is required to address this issue.
